stack of magazinesThe Dingley Press has a new owner, but he’s not new to the company or to catalog printing. Christopher A. Pierce, who recently purchased Dingley from The Sheridan Group, is also Dingley’s former owner and has a long history with our company.

Pierce was hired by The Dingley Press in 1972 and worked his way up, purchasing the company in 1981. He steadily grew the business over the next two decades: During that time, the business surpassed the $100 million mark and expanded to employ more than 500 people before Pierce sold Dingley to The Sheridan Group in 2004.

Pierce stayed on as Chairman and CEO until his retirement in 2011, at which time he took the Deputy Commissioner of Finance position with Maine’s Department of Health and Human Services.

Pierce is a graduate of Bowdoin College. He is also a board member of the Finance Authority of Maine (FAME), a quasi-government agency that provides loan insurance to over 900 Maine companies. He and his wife demonstrated their commitment to social services and Maine’s non-profit institutions with the creation of the Christopher and Nancy Pierce Foundation in 2004.

Pierce’s reacquisition of The Dingley Press was greeted with enthusiasm by longtime employees, many of whom worked for Pierce before and have great respect for him and his leadership.

But what does The Dingley Press’ acquisition mean for its catalog customers? Only good things: Dingley’s loyal customers will benefit from doing business with a company whose sole focus is on being catalog experts. And along with our decades of expertise, The Dingley Press is sophisticated enough to offer the latest emerging technologies, small enough to provide highly customized catalog services, and agile enough to respond quickly to customer needs.

The Dingley Press team remains committed to helping our customers succeed, and we look forward to serving your catalog printing and mailing needs in 2014 and beyond.
