On Thursday, December 10, 2015, the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) approved the five USPS Mailing Promotions for 2016. As you probably already know these promotions aren’t necessarily designed with just our market segment in mind so a couple of these won’t necessarily apply to us. The Personalization Color Transpromo is one of these. The other two that don’t apply to most catalogers are Earned Value, unless you have a BRC, and Tactile, Sensory & Interactive Mailpiece Engagement promotion (TSI&M) because most of us don’t use unusual paper, ink or special bindery operations.

The two promotions that you should focus on are the Emerging and Advance Technology/Video In Print, and the Mobile Shopping promotion. The good news is that if you participated in these this year you already know what is needed to qualify since nothing really changed for next year. Even if you didn’t participate we can help you understand the requirements and help you qualify.

These promotions continue to build on the postal strategies from 2015 promotions. They focus on giving marketers an opportunity to engage their customers in new ways using technology using incentives. Below is the APPROVED promotion calendar for next year.
