Holidays got you jittery? Shutterstock predicts you’ll be seeking serenity in the New Year. The stock photo platform recently released its 2022 Color Trends Report, and it’ll have you feeling…calm.

Each year, the data analysts at Shutterstock plow through billions of pixels to predict the colors that will dominate graphics in the coming year.

According to Shutterstock, their stats are “based on millions of images downloaded from around the world, wherein each individual pixel shade is tallied—along with recent click-through rate (CTR) performance” and voila! Here’s the list:

Calming Coral

Hex:calming-coral

Description: A muted, peachy pastel that plays well with other pastels. According to Shutterstock, “Its warmth encourages us to embrace our vulnerability, bringing to the forefront feelings of comfort and peace.”

Velvet Violet

Hex: violet

Description: As the boldest of the palette, velvet violet stands out against the other pastel hues but isn’t overpowering or garish. According to Shutterstock, “Velvet Violet embodies purple’s traditional associations with royalty. Its natural complement is a contrasting shade of green—like emerald—which pair up in perfect harmony.”

Pacific Pink

Hex:pacific pink

Description: This subtle pink is not as “hot” as in years past. This subdued shade pairs nicely with other pinks, peaches and teal.

Shutterstock AI also determined that shades of green dominated in click-through rates and conversions. Their experts recommend incorporating emerald, jade, lime, mint, and beyond into your ads for better performance.

Moreover, the report noted popular colors by country. If you are planning a marketing campaign targeting a specific geographic region, it might be worth incorporating some of these trending colors into your promotional graphics.
