With people spending more time in brick-and-morter stores than anytime in the last three years, retailers are getting creative with captivating in-store shoppers.

BOPIS, which is sometimes known as click and collect, seemed like a win-win during pandemic restrictions, as shoppers could support physical brick-and-mortar stores without having to spend time in closed public spaces.

BOPIS continues to be a go-to solution for last-minute gifts and an easy solution for shoppers who don’t want to wade through crowded stores or wait in long lines.

 Fitting Room Enhancements

Some retailers are looking at new technologies in fitting rooms to enhance the in-store experience.

These include smart mirrors where consumers can get personalized styling recommendations, request different sizes or additional items – even get help with purchases and returns.

Amazon is making its move to digitize the in-store apparel shopping experience by providing consumers with a touchscreen to browse more options, rate items, and request more sizes or styles be delivered directly to their room within minutes.
